High-precision CD drive
The dedicated CD player DP-400 is positioned as a companion model of the DP-500. It incorporates the know-how of the higher-ranked model but is also designed as an accomplished product in its own right, featuring a newly designed high-precision CD drive. The digital processor section boasts a further improved MDS++ type D/A converter. Two high-performance delta-sigma D/A converters are driven in parallel, resulting in significantly improved conversion accuracy, reduced THD and noise, and excellent low-level linearity. All other important performance parameters also benefit from this approach.
COMPACT DISC PLAYER
The DP-510 is the successor to the DP-500.
The CD mechanism in the DP-510 was developed with a simple yet demanding aim: extract the information encoded on the CD one-hundred percent. Accuphase has created an extremely rigid and ultra precise transport mechanism that attains new levels of performance.
The processor section employs six strictly selected high performance delta-sigma devices operating in parallel, forming a further refined MDS++ D/A conversion system. The analog filter which has a significant influence on sound quality is a so-called Direct Balanced Filter which provides totally separate analog low-pass filtering for the balanced and line signal paths. The D/A converter section can be accessed also by external equipment.
The coaxial input can handle audio data up to a sampling frequency of 192 kHz and 24-bit resolution.

The new DP-600 is positioned as a companion model to the higher-ranked DP-800 and DP-700, benefiting from their sophisticated know-how, but also representing a new concept for an integrated SA-CD player.The high-rigidity, high-precision SA-CD drive is the ultimate tool for extracting the information on a SA-CD disc one hundred percent. D/A conversion of the DSD signal is handled using ground-breaking MDSD (Multiple Double Speed DSD) technology. By bringing out the wealth of detail comprised in the SA-CD format, the DP-600 lets the music unfold with true emotional impact.

The DSD signal from the input is upsampled by a factor of 2, resulting in a sampling frequency of 5.6448 MHz/1 bit.
After volume processing, the circuit performs D/A conversion using a highly ingenious moving-average filter principle. In the DP-700, this involves seven delay devices and eight MDS++ type D/A converters. The signal is delayed (shifted) progressively by one clock cycle to produce eight signals which are sent to separate D/A converters for direct D/A conversion. The converted signals are then summed.
Since conversion errors are kept to an absolute minimum by the use ofMDS++ type DACs, the MDSD principle results in an 8-pole high-cut filter with perfectly linear phase characteristics.
